Helping Every Child Feel Happy, Safe and Confident

At Raising Explorers Nursery, we create a warm, caring and supportive environment where every child feels happy, safe and valued. We recognise that every child is unique, encouraging them to wonder with curiosity, explore through play and new experiences, and flourish by developing confidence, independence and friendships. Our aim is to nurture every child's individual strengths, inspire a love of learning and make each day a happy and exciting journey of discovery.

Spaces Designed for Little Explorers

At Raising Explorers Nursery, we have created a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can feel at home, build confidence and enjoy learning from the moment they arrive. Our nursery includes a range of thoughtfully designed spaces that support children at every stage of their development. Through play, exploration and everyday experiences, children are encouraged to wonder, discover new interests and develop important skills. Each area has been carefully planned to help children explore with confidence, build independence and feel supported as they flourish. Our aim is to create an environment where every child feels comfortable, inspired and excited to learn.

A warm and welcoming space where children and families feel comfortable, safe and valued from the moment they arrive. Our friendly team ensures every little explorer starts their day with a smile

Baby Room

6–18 Months1:3 Staff Ratio

Our cosy Baby Room provides a calm, nurturing home-from-home environment where babies feel safe, loved and supported. Through sensory play, gentle exploration and caring relationships, we encourage curiosity and celebrate every little milestone.

Toddler Room

18–30 Months1:5 Staff Ratio

Our vibrant Toddler Room encourages little explorers to discover, create and grow. Through imaginative play, hands-on activities and new experiences, toddlers build confidence, independence, communication skills and friendships.

Pre-School Room

2½–4 Years1:8 Staff Ratio

Our bright and engaging Pre-School Room inspires curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. Through purposeful play, early literacy, maths and exciting activities, children develop confidence, independence and essential skills to prepare for school.

Sensory Room

Our calming Sensory Room offers a magical space filled with soothing lights, colours and interactive experiences. Designed to encourage exploration, relaxation and discovery, it supports children’s curiosity, wellbeing and sensory development.

Garden

Our exciting outdoor space gives little explorers the freedom to play, discover and enjoy fresh air. With climbing equipment, ride-on toys and imaginative activities, children develop physical skills, creativity, confidence and a love of outdoor adventures.

A Day at Raising Explorers Nursery Listerhills

Our doors are open from 7:30am to 7:00pm, giving families flexibility around their daily routines. We offer a range of sessions and childcare options throughout the day to suit different needs.

OPENING HOURS

7:30am – 7:00pm

7:30am – 9:00am

Welcome & Breakfast

A warm welcome, free-flow breakfast and relaxed play to help children settle in and start the day feeling happy and secure.

9:00am – 11:30am

Play, Learning & Outdoors

Songs, stories, planned activities and outdoor play give children opportunities to wonder, explore and enjoy learning through everyday experiences.

11:30am – 2:00pm

Lunch Rest & Quiet Time

A healthy lunch followed by nap time for children who need it, with calm activities and quiet play available for those who are awake.

2:00pm – 5:00pm

Creative Play & Teatime

Children enjoy planned creative and messy play activities that encourage curiosity, confidence and new skills, followed by teatime.

5:00pm – 7:00pm

Free Play & Home Time

Children enjoy indoor and outdoor free play, building friendships, exploring their interests and developing independencebefore winding down for a happy end to their day.
