Help with Childcare Costs

There are several different schemes available that may help towards the cost of childcare, depending on your circumstances.

Government Funded Childcare

Eligible families can receive funded childcare hours through the Government. You can check your eligibility and apply online through the official GOV.UK childcare service.

Local Authority Support

Your local council may be able to provide additional childcare support or help you find funding you are eligible for. Support available can vary depending on your circumstances and where you live.

Student Finance England (SFE)

If you are a full-time student with children, you may be eligible for help towards childcare costs through the Childcare Grant from Student Finance England. The amount of support available will depend on your circumstances.

Tax-Free Childcare

Eligible working families can receive Government support towards their childcare costs. For every £8 you pay into your childcare account, the Government adds £2, up to the applicable annual limit.

Universal Credit (UC)

If you are eligible for Universal Credit and are working, you may be able to claim back up to 85% of your childcare costs, subject to the relevant limits and eligibility requirements.

Not sure what support you can receive?

We recommend checking the official GOV.UK childcare support service to find out which options may be available to your family.
